Something NEW - Rhythmical Body Treatment

Dr Hauschka Holistic Body Treatment

Experience a massage that works on your lymphatic system, opening your body to it's own healing impulses.
Rhythmic massage strokes are slow,  moving over the entire body, awakening the body's ability for renewal.
First your feet are warmed with a Sage foot bath, then you are guided to the massage table.
Gentle, but deep movement for the whole body, including back, legs, chest, neck & shoulders, face and head.
Receive a relaxing holistic massage that balances the body, promotes lymphatic elimination, supports circulation and brings a deep sense of calm

Dr Hauschka Rhythmic Body Oils are used exclusively, to create a massage truly unique from any other massage you have experienced.

Rhythm fascinated Dr Hauschka and this formed the basis of his unique plant extraction process.  For each of the 6 custom blended oils created, the plant, flower and medicinal herbs are combined with the highest quality biodynamic plant oils.  Heated to body temperature for 7 days the organic  ingredients alternate between rest and movement, just as they would in the natural world. This specialized extraction process provides the Dr Hauschka Body Oils with their firming, activating, balancing  and harmonizing care.
A customized Dr Hauschka oil will be chosen for you based on your  unique needs.

Spring is in the air.  Our eyes are being  treated to pretty blossoms and lush greenery sprouting all around.  Right now in this early stage of Spring, you might also find some other things coming up too - like cold sores, acne, irritated itchy skin or scalp, aggravation, irritability, thirst. If you're experiencing any of these or similar symptoms, it's perfectly normal. It's just the energy of Spring surging up and out through your body - the very same energy that is responsible for the upward shooting of the soon-to-be snap peas, peonies, and tree leaves.

Spring energy is all about moving upward and outward, opposite of the contractive direction of Winter that pulls our energy inward for storage. Yet, this energy is not selective, it pulls everything up and out with it. On the one hand it's revving up libidos, raising general energy levels, inspiring new motivation, and simply making you want to go out and do more.

On the other hand it can also bring out any dormant toxins and pathogens hibernating deep in your tissues from Winter. Have you noticed your skin behave a little funny lately? Maybe a few blemishes, rashes or some dry scaly patches perhaps? Or maybe you've been a bit irritable and impatient, or outright angry in a primal, can't-control-myself kind of way?

This is the surge of heat and what we call "yang" energy in Chinese medicine. It's a natural characteristic of the Spring season. If you were an ancient Chinese person who lived in deep connection to the seasons and the movements of nature, you would know this. In fact, you wouldn't be the least bit phased by any of these symptoms, because you would know exactly how to create balance in your body, and harmony with the season.

To assit your skin in coping with the seasonal shift our bodies and skin is undergoing I have created a Spring Facial utilizing the soothing almond essence found in a select variety of Dr Hauschka products.

Sneak Peak Into The Makings of My Online Course

Annie Lennox Age 60
This  year I am working on the  launch of my  online course for women interested in  how they can approach aging in a natural and  holistic way.  It feels like a big undertaking to create such a course, but I am using my favourite quote for inspiration:

“Whatever you can do or dream you can, begin it. Boldness has genius, power and magic in it!”
― Johann Wolfgang von Goethe

I just finished writing about how typical anti aging products and treatments actually stress our bodies and our skin. I thought I would it  share with you.

Products described as “anti-aging” typically contain high concentrations of active ingredients which attempt to externally supply more and more substances that are lacking in the skin or alter naturally occurring reactions.  These active ingredients, as well as surgery, chemical peels and Botox, take an isolated approach to individual symptoms.  They leave our bodies trying to deal with  the consequences of the quick fix, resulting in energy being used to try and find balance again, rather than in the all important daily skin processes. As a consequence of our skin fighting to find balance, it starts to look tired and so we reach for the external source to help, which in turn leads to dependency.

However, there is an alternative to this downward spiral. The skin is made, in part, of different life processes. As we age these processes start to slow down; blood circulation isn’t as strong so fewer nutrients and less oxygen are delivered to the skin; less oil is produced and the skin’s ability to hold onto water decreases along with collagen, elastin and cellular renewal. What we need to do is to encourage these life processes to function as well as they can, which helps you look good for your years, from the inside out and not just on the surface.

I will keep you post on when my course is up and running and ready to launch.

Every Woman Needs to Know This About Her Skin

Today I saw 5 new facial clients.  During my intake with them I was struck by the common theme going on.  They often forget to wash their face at night. They often just use water. Sometimes they use a cleanser, but they are not very good at remembering to.  Mostly they remember to use  their moisturizer.

Ladies, this is not the way to treat your skin!  It's the equivalent to  brushing your teeth once in awhile and  forgeting to use tooth paste.  Holistic skincare is not taught to most women. Who taught you to take care of your skin?  Sometimes I  take it for granted that everyone knows at least the basics.

So what are the basics?  Cleanse , tone, and moisturize.  If you have  been using  water to clean you face and slapping on Aveeno moisturizer and you think you're doing good, my 3 step system might be a shock to your system. It's alot to ask of someone who hasn't paid more then $10 for a moisturizer to start using 3 products as the basics. People, the state of our skincare system is shocking!  I have a lot of educating to do.

So if you're a water baby or know someone who is using h2o as their cleanser, listen up and pass this info on.  Water is said to remove about 40% of the dirt and grim on your face.  Mop one side of your kitchen floor with water and mop the other side with water and a cleaner. Your bucket with the cleaner in it will be alot more murky.  But wait ...don't grab a bar of soap and go using that on your face. No, no , no, soap strips your skin of its natural oils. It cleans your skin to be sure, but ladies we need to think of the skin on our face like it is  a piece of fine silk. Since you were a wee babe your face has been cleaned with something. Was it soap? What about when you were a teen. Did you believe you had to wash away the oils on your face to prevent or cope with break outs?  Did you ever partake of those gritty scrubs popular in the 80's? We need to treat our skin with great care.

Our skin is smart and  makes its own natural oils that keep our micro flora or bacteria in a happy state.  When you wipe out your micro flora with a  soap, foamy cleanser, or gel cleanser, you destroy your skins defence system.   Thats not all, you create skin that is deeply dehydrated. Dehydrated skin is prone to developing fine cracks on the surface, which  allows in the toxins and chemicals in your water, in the air and in your Aveeno moisturizer. That's why it's no surprise that my soap loving clients are also super sensitives. Years of soaping up has damage their skin barrier, leaving it susceptible to all the bad stuff in our environment and in skincare products and makeup.

Darling ladies what I want you to do is invest in a good organic plant oil based cleanser. The best one is Dr Hauschka Cleansing Milk, especially if you have accidentally damaged your skin by using the wrong type of cleanser. The Dr H Cleansing Milk will help to strengthen your skin. If you like a little exfoliating action then use the Cleansing Cream, it's gentle enough to use everyday and will give you a deep cleanse with its gentle exfoliating action.  The big bonus of using a  cleanser that respects your skins acid mantle is that any issues with dryness will balance out. Women often reach for a moisturizer to treat their dry skin symptoms, but we need to go back a step and look at how the skin is being cleansed. Your gift for loving, respecting and honouring your skin by cleansing it correctly morning and evening is comfortable, balanced, healthy skin. Yippie!
